James bonds with his fans

One of the most in-demand actors in the country, Jirayu Tangsrisuk (James), recently held his James Ji Monkey King Fan Meeting: Wan Son Son Kab Kon Sam Kan (A Naughty Day with Significant People) event at Royal Paragon Hall.

The event wasn’t without controversy, since many complained that the highest-priced tickets were too expensive at 6,000 baht each. But the criticisms had little effect, since James’ Banana fan club snapped up all of the 6,000 baht tickets, which came with a nice photo book of the star, on the first day they went on sale.

FIRST STEPS

On February 26 at Royal Paragon Hall, Banana prepared to have fun with their favourite star. They congratulated James for the event with beautiful bouquets, dolls and neon signs.

The 20-year-old actor opened the show by performing some hip-hop dance steps that he learned in South Korea for the event. After that, James sang his first single, “Sod Check In (I’m single).”

James then sang Namm Ronnadet’s “Thoe Ja Rak Chan Rue Pao Mai Rue (Don’t Know Whether You Love Me or Not)” and Toy Muakdang’s “Ya Khor Mhor Lam (Don’t Ask a Traditional Northern Style Singer),” but he looked a bit uptight when he missed some of the notes.

MC Na Nek explained that the good-looking star was stressed because he had practiced hard until the early morning and had only had a few hours sleep. James’ fans then applauded and screamed to support his hard work.

GREAT GUESTS

There were a lot of guests at the show. Singer and actress Punch Worakarn created a joyful atmosphere when she came onstage to sing Bird Thongchai’s fun song, “Ma Tam Mai (Why Are You Here?),” with James. Dressed in a pretty white dress, Punch was professional as she sang tunefully and danced close to James in a sexy way, making the fans scream once again.

Petite actress Toey Jarinporn, who starred with James in the romantic movie Timeline, appeared onstage in a silver dress. Toey was charismatic as she sang Getsunova’s slow hit, “Glai Kae Nai Kue Glai (So Close Yet So Far),” with her adorable voice.

MAGIC MOMENTS

One of the best moments of the event was when James came out in a splendid white suit and sang B5’s sweet ballad, “Rak Khun Khao Laew (Falling for You),” with the singer In Budokan. James did a good job singing the beautiful song with emotion and a surprisingly mellow voice.

Ying Lee’s hit look tung song, “Kho Jai Thoe Laek Boe Tho (Please Trade Your Heart With My Phone Number),” was the song that James performed the most naturally. The star looked relaxed as he had fun with the dances during the song.

GAMES WITH JAMES

Since the event was a fan meeting, there were opportunities for fans to get close to their favourite star. Some selected fans even got to play games with James.

Imitating a romantic scene from the TV drama Supap Buruth Jutathep (Gentleman from the Jutathep Family), James held the hand of a game winner and led her to sit down on a white bench. Fans screamed loudly at the sweet scene, and the actor made them scream even louder by holding the winner’s shoulders.

MONKEY AND BANANA

James and Banana openly expressed their love for one another at the event. The actor sang Toh Wasan’s meaningful song “Tan Kam Nan (For That Word),” then played the guitar while singing “My Lovely Angel” in Thai. The latter song was written specially by Korean singer and 4Minute member Jeon Ji Yoon to thank his fans. The audience impressed James by wearing white gloves during his performance of “My Lovely Angel.”

At the end of the meeting, they held up signs reading, “Love You James Ji,” making the star smile happily with sparkling eyes.
