Back in the early 1900s, most Thais had never seen an aeroplane. Many people in the kingdom were superstitious and believed that the sky was the exclusive domain of the birds. Few could have imagined that a large hunk of machinery could take wing.

For fans of Thai action movies, 2008 is shaping up to be a promising year. Soon to hit the theatres are Phra Nakorn�s Hanuman and Tony Jaa�s directorial debut, Ong Bak 2.

If you want to get into the world of showbiz, being good looking is half the battle. It certainly didn�t hurt 22-year-old Ranapob Rakarin (Maxx), whose fashion shoots in teen magazines led to his discovery by the owner of the WerkGang music label.

Bird Thongchai�s latest album is called Simply Bird, and as the title suggests, he�s gone back to a simpler style of easy-listening pop. It�s a definite change from the more dance-oriented records he�s put out in recent years.
