Coach Aod, Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, the head coach of the Thai women's national volleyball team, said on Monday night that he is "old enough for marriage" and his bride-to-be is Feng Kun, former captain of the Chinese women's national volleyball team.

Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, the head coach of the Thai women's national volleyball team, announced on Monday night that he would marry Feng Kun, former captain of the Chinese women's national volleyball team and member of China's 2004 Olympic championship team, this December.

Kiattipong, 48, known widely as coach Aod, made the announcement at a party for Thailand's national volleyball players. He said he was old enough for marriage now and he had known his bride-to-be since he first took the national team to international tournaments.

They will receive royally sponsored blessed water on Dec 4 and their wedding party is booked at the Army Club on Dec 6.

Coach Aod was a member of the Thai men's national volleyball team and, after his retirement from playing, he started his coaching career with the Thai women's national volleyball team in 2001. His coaching achievements include the Asian Volleyball Championship 2013 when Thailand defeated Japan, the third-rated team in the world then, in three straight sets.

Among her numerous career achievements, Feng Kun, 36, was rated the most valuable player and best setter in the Summer Olympics in Athens in 2004, when China won the gold medal. She retired in 2011.
