Pocket League Story

Mr.TO is back to see you again.

Last time I wrote a game review for PSP portable game console, but this time I'm reviewing a game for mobile platform.

Today I'm reviewing Pocket League Story from Kairosoft, which was published on Apple's iOS and Google Android platforms. This game you act as a soccer manager, while your tasks are to hire coaches & soccer players, improve your team's field & stadium, building relationships fan club and find sponsors for the team.

For player transfer system in this game, you'll have to keep negotiating until you get enough percentages to buy the play. And you don't have to worry that the computer will get that player before you because you're the only one who can buy and sell players.

On match scenes, you'll be watching the match full time, which you'll be seeing the players on the field. You can set 3 passing styles for your team (1. the team will use long & short passes / 2. the team will only use long passes / 3. the team will focus on dribbling).

The formation setting in game is very easy. You only need to set formation and then choose aggressive or defensive style. The switch soccer players it rather clunky and confusing (you need to choose the one you want to switch out and then choose 'bench' the choose the one you went to switch in).

The downside of the game is in it's matches system. Because in this game, the player will not get injured nor get banned from the matches. Which makes reserve players useless and you can't modify the team's formation nor switch players between the matches, you can only modify them in half-time breaks only.

I want to tell you not to compare this game with CM (Championship Manager) and FM (Football Manager) games, because this game was made to be played in just a short burst of time, but in CM and FM more player input is required (such as mid-game strategy changes). I think this game doesn't fully meet my expectations.
