The Suphan Buri Museum displays a great number of local cultural and historical artifacts in the heart of Suphan Buri province. The museum presents many interesting exhibits, including items that show the glory and prosperity of the Dvaravati era, which dated from the 6th to the 13th century.

For Freeze Frame this week, SW takes a look at this interesting museum.

The display draws visitors’ attention with the beauty of local silk cloth and pah khao mah, or hand-woven cloth.

This zone exhibits a number of local bracelets and necklaces, some of which are several decades old.

This hall includes a classical Thai wooden house and waxwork models that show Suphan Buri’s traditional life in the past.

These ancient sculptures are believed to date from the Dvaravati era.

The display shows centuries-old amulets found at numerous temples in Suphan Buri.

Suphan Buri Museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 9:00 am to 4 pm. For more information, visit http://www.suphan.biz/Museum.htm.
