The first 3-D film shown to a paying audience was the 1922 American movie, The Power of Love.

The latest installment in the smash hit Step Up movie franchise is Step Up: Revolution, where the dancing action is set against the vibrant backdrop of Miami, USA.

In Revolution, Emily (Kathryn McCormick), the daughter of a wealthy businessman, arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer. She soon falls in love with Sean (Ryan Guzman), a young man who leads a dance crew that specialises in elaborate, cutting-edge dance events.

Sean’s crew, called the MOB, strives to win a contest for a major sponsorship opportunity. At the same time, Emily’s father (Peter Gallagher) threatens to develop the MOB’s historic neighbourhood and displace the thousands of people who live there.

Emily decides to band together with Sean and his crew to turn their public performances into protests as they risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause.

Catch the action, drama and spectacular dancing in 3-D when Step Up: Revolution hits local cinemas on July 26.
