In 1968, the crew of NASA’s Apollo 8 mission enters into orbit around the Moon, becoming the first humans to do so. They perform 10 lunar orbits and broadcast live pictures that became one of the most watched television programmes in history.

In 1974, Cyclone Tracy hits the city of Darwin in Australia. More than 70 percent of the city’s buildings and 80 percent of the houses are destroyed.
