Did you know

Kyuhyun will star in the stage musical Robin Hood in January.

Super Junior singer Cho Kyuhyun is one of the busiest members of the K-pop super group. Aside from touring around the world with Super Junior and hosting the popular TV variety show Radio Star, Kyuhyun has played leading characters in the stage musicals Moon Embracing the Sun and Singing in the Rain.

More recently, the 26-year-old star released his first solo album, At Gwanghwamun, which includes several chart-topping songs.

Last month, Kyuhyun flew to the City of Angels to take some pictures for advertisements and to attend his Masita Kyuhyun Fan Sweeting fan meeting. Super Junior’s youngest member looked a bit under the weather during his group interview with the Thai press on November 11, but he gradually became more cheerful after meeting the ELF Super Junior fan club at Jangwattana Hall in Central Jangwattana.

SUPER SEAWEED

The event kicked off with an interview session. MC Que asked Kyuhyun how he felt about being a presenter for the Masita seaweed brand for four years. The singer said that he was happy to renew his contract with the company. He also thanked the brand for giving him the opportunity to visit Thailand.

Kyuhyun then spent some time promoting the company’s new baked seaweed product, which he said tastes different from fried seaweed.

DELICIOUS DISH

When Kyuhyun was asked to recommend some healthy food to his fans, the singer smiled shyly and said that eating rice on its own isn’t healthy, so he always adds seaweed to his meal. He also recommended that fans try seaweed with kimbap, a popular Korean dish comprised of rice roll filled with ingredients such as cucumber, tuna or squid.

GROUP WORK

Super Junior are currently promoting their seventh album, the title of which, Mamacita, sounds similar to Masita. Kyuhyun joked that he asked the songwriter to add the word Masita to Super Junior’s album. The singer also said that he was happy to work on the album with group leader Leetuek, who was discharged from military service last July.

COLD COMFORT

When MC Que asked the singer about his debut solo album, At Gwanghwamun, Kyuhyun said that he spent two years preparing the album. The singer also mentioned that it was currently autumn in Korea, which is a cold, lonely season when people like listening to ballads. Since Thailand doesn’t have a cold season like that, Kyuhyun recommended that his fans turn the air-conditioner on to make the room cold before listening to his songs.

SWEET WORDS

After playing games and giving away posters to some lucky fans, Kyuhyun sang a cover of Scrubb’s song, “Took Yang (Everything).” The singer explained that the lyrics of the song expressed what he wanted to say to his fans, making Thai ELF scream with joy.

Before leaving the stage, Kyuhyun told ELF that the other members of Super Junior were probably jealous of him because he was able to meet up with their Thai fans. He then made the fans even happier by saying that if he had time, he would hug everybody in the hall.
