Letter of the week

ARMY LIFE

I have experienced the first year of the Thai Army course for a couple of weeks. It was quite harsh and mentally painful for some people. We learned new movements and suffered unpleasant conditions, like being in the rain or strong sunlight.

I think it will be great, and this idea could be help the world be peaceful.

Teera Siribunsuk,
Bangkok

I think that the Thai Army course for high school kids is a great idea, Teera. It can teach young people some skills that might be useful. It can also help you become more disciplined. I think it's a much better use of one's time than having to worry about getting drafted, and it also helps to make sure that the country is protected in times of war. Make the most of your time there, and good luck. — Editor

TWEET DREAMS

I use Twitter a lot. I like to communicate with friends and keep up with what my favourite celebrities are doing.

Some people do not enjoy playing on Twitter. They don't find it interesting, and they think it is a waste of time. I don't agree with this.

I think that you can waste a lot of time if you spend too much time on Twitter, but I also think that you can just look at it from time to time and you will enjoy it.

Suganya Phreawphuttipong,
Bangkok

Any social media site can end up being a bad habit if you're not careful, Suganya. The main thing is to make sure you're not spending too much time on Twitter. If you enjoy it, there's nothing wrong with it in moderation. Just remember to look up from your smart phone every once in a while, and experience life in the real world. — Editor

TEST JITTERS

I am nervous about my upcoming exams. I am a fairly good student, but I don't always study as hard as I should. Because of this, I must revise a lot when exams come.

I know that I should be more diligent during the school year. I hope that I can revise well enough to do well on my tests.

Aeoy Tassamon,
Bangkok

Try not to worry too much, Aeoy. You'll do better overall if you can keep your anxiety low. Don't worry too much about what you haven't done up to this point. Just make a plan of how you're going to proceed from this point on. Schedule your study time well, but make sure that you get enough rest, you eat right and have some free time, too. If you're overtired and stressed out, you won't perform well on the test. Good luck. — Editor
