One of the most popular spots during summer in Thailand is Prachuap Khiri Khan, where there are beautiful beaches, historical sights and sacred temples.

For this week’s Freeze Frame, SW takes a look at some of the top tourist attractions in this central province.

Established in 1989, the King Mongkut Memorial Park of Science and Technology is dedicated to King Mongkut, the father of scientific study in Thailand. The museum displays exhibitions about marine ecosystems, as well as freshwater and salt-water animals.

Apart from vintage aircrafts, the Museum of Aviation shows exhibits about World War II.

Those who want to explore local food and products are encouraged to walk through Sue Suk Road, where you can find home-made cakes, freshly brewed coffee and souvenirs.

Buddhist pilgrims are encouraged to visit the sacred reclining Buddha image at Tham Phra Non (Reclining Buddha Cave).

Ao Manao is one of the best known beaches in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Japanese forces came ashore here in 1941 during World War II.

Ao Noi is a scenic bay where people can shop for seafood at a nearby fish market.

Mount Lom Muak is another scenic site in Prachuap Khiri Khan, where visitors can get close to the nature and to feed mammals like langurs.
