Did you know

Toon’s favourite hobbies are yoga and horse riding.

Following the success of his 2012 horror movie 3AM, director Isara Nadee expanded the story of his short film, O.T., to create his latest horror comedy movie, O.T. Pi Overtime.

O.T. Pi Overtime continues the bizarre and chaotic adventures of an odd company run by three weird partners, by played hot stars Ananda Everingham, Chakrit Yamnam and Ray MacDonald. The company is hired to organise a classy wedding party at an old, luxurious hotel. What they don’t realise is that the hotel is also haunted by ghosts.

Also starring in O.T. Pi Overtime is newcomer Pimpawee Kograbin (Toon), 25, who makes her big screen debut.

Student Weekly recently interviewed Toon about her role in O.T. Pi Overtime, which is due to hit cinemas on October 23.

Student Weekly: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you were doing before working on O.T. Pi Overtime?

Toon: I’m studying graphic design at Srinakharinwirot University. My friend who works for a modelling agency invited me to try out for jobs in show business. I started out acting in a Rejoice Garnier TV commercial, then worked on some TV dramas like Zen The Series and Koo Gig Prik Gub Glua.

Student Weekly: Did your experience acting in TV dramas help you when you came to work on this film?

Toon: Yes, it helped a lot. I was a very shy person when I first start acting, and I didn’t have much confidence. But once I got used to it, everything became much easier. The only problem I had working on this movie was when I had to act in scenes with Ananda, Chakrit and Ray. They’re big stars, so I felt a bit nervous being around them. [Laughs.]

Student Weekly: What was it like working with those three actors?

Toon: It was great. They’re all talented actors and very professional. I didn’t have many scenes with Chakrit, but I saw Ananda and Ray a lot during the filming. They’re both hilarious and they love to play pranks on people, just like their characters in the movie!

Student Weekly: Was it difficult to act in a horror movie?

Toon: The hardest part is that you need to have a good imagination. I’ve never seen a ghost, so I had to imagine what it would feel like to see one.

Student Weekly: Do you believe that ghosts really exist?

Toon: I’m not sure. I don’t get afraid of unexplained things very easily. Some people can’t even be alone by themselves, but I’m not like that. I have to admit that I was pretty scared when we were filming in the spooky old hotel in Ratchaburi.

Student Weekly: What was the hardest scene to film?

Toon: The scene where I have a big argument with my boyfriend then run away to find a place to cry. It was a pretty intense scene, and I found it hard to cry in front of the cameras. It took me a few takes to nail it.

Student Weekly: Why should comedy-horror fans not miss O.T. Pi Overtime?

Toon: It’s not a typical horror film. You can’t predict what’s going to happen next in the story, or whether the scary things happen because of a ghost or a prank. I can guarantee that you won’t get bored or fall asleep while you watch this movie!
