Did you know

Earth stars in the upcoming teen movie Gang Preed Ja Read Jai Thoe (Young Filmmaker).

The 2012 horror movie Tee Sam Three Dee (3 am 3-D) was successful internationally after it was screened in places like Brunei, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. To follow up that great success, Five Star Production didn’t hesitate to produce a sequel, the recently released Tee Sam Kuen Sam Three Dee (3 am Part II).

3 am Part II is divided into three segments, titled Kuen Sam (The Third Night), Convent and Kong Tek (Chinese Funeral Goods Store).

Student Weekly recently met up with actors Thawat Pornrattanaprasert (Earth), 19, and Hataichat Eurkittiroj (Pim), 18, to chat about the film. Earth is best known for his part in the movies Suck Seed and ATM Errak Error, while Pim is a familiar face from various TV commercials. The young stars told us about their experiences acting and making 3 am Part II.

Student Weekly: When did you guys first become interested in acting?

Earth: After acting in movies, sitcoms and music videos, I found that I enjoyed working with different crews and I became more interested in acting. I then decided to study film at Rangsit University. I want to be a film director in the future.

Pim: I used to be very shy, but after taking some acting classes, I learned how to express myself using my body, voice and imagination. I also found acting to be fun and charming.

Student Weekly: Have you ever had a real experience with ghosts?

Earth: I once had sleep paralysis on a movie set when I was taking a nap. I couldn’t get up or move for 30 minutes and I was very upset. I believed it was caused by a ghost and I challenged it meet my spirit house, but nothing happened after that.

Student Weekly: Can you tell us about the characters you play in 3 am Part II?

Earth: I play Ta, who is a new and naïve member of a motorcycle gang in The Third Night. In Chinese Funeral Goods Store, Ta has a scary situation where he has to work with his dead boss.

Pim: I play Lenin, who is the ex-girlfriend of Kem, played by Tina Supanat. Lenin doesn’t talk much and usually expresses her feelings with her eyes.

Student Weekly: Was the atmosphere on the set as scary as it looks in the movie?

Earth: Most of the filming was done between 6 pm to 6 am, but there were lots of people on the set, so I never felt scared.

Pim: Convent was filmed at Assumption College Sriracha. The historical buildings there are scary. Another set was an abandoned polo club. It was huge, isolated and very creepy. I didn’t dare to walk alone there.

Student Weekly: Earth, how did you feel about working with famous actress Nok Sinjai?

Earth: I didn’t have many scenes with her, but she was well prepared and professional. She can express emotions very well.

Student Weekly: Pim, how did you feel about doing romantic scenes with a woman?

Pim: It was more embarrassing than working with a guy! [Laughs.] The director told me to act like we were really in love and wanted to be together. It took me awhile to get into character.

Student Weekly: Which scene required the most takes when you were filming?

Earth: The first scene, because I was still adjusting to my character and learning how to work with the director. That scene required a lot of imagination because I had to pretend that I was seeing a ghost.

Pim: I also had trouble with the first scene. I had to tell a story about a headless ghost, and the story was five pages long in the script!

Student Weekly: Why should everybody check out this ghost movie?

Pim: It has a bit of everything, from bloody and frightening scenes to romantic and funny parts. The 3-D effects are fantastic. And you shouldn’t miss any of the three segments because the stories connect to one another.
