Acid casualties

Police and rescue workers cover the road surface with lime after sulphuric acid leaked from a tanker which overturned after crashing into a motorcycle on Rama II Road in Samut Sakhon province on November 11. The lorry driver and the motorcycle rider were both killed in the accident.

Teen shoots pair for Gangnam Style

Two young men were shot and wounded at around 2:30 am on November 11 after leaving a temple fair in Ubon Ratchathani.

Vorakit Chankong, 24, sustained a serious gunshot wound to his right eye. His friend, identified only as Nid, 17, was shot in the right arm.

Nid told police he and Vorakit visited Wat Ban Non Hongthong in Muang district where a mor lam concert was being held. He and his friend performed the “Gangnam Style” dance at the concert. Their dance apparently irritated a local teenager Pichet Kullaket, who allegedly tried to assault the pair, then later shot them as they were riding home on a motorcycle.

Cop nabbed for illegal hunting

A police chief and eight civilians have been arrested for hunting wild animals in the Kang Krachan National Park in Phetchaburi province.

Theerayuth Ketmangmee, 44, an investigation chief at Pran Buri police station in Prachuap Khiri Khan was arrested with eight other men at Huay Mae Pradon forest in Phetchaburi on November 10.

Three rifles, three shotguns, three pistols, more than 100 rounds of ammunition, the carcass of a female deer, 100 rare frogs, a boat and hunting equipment were seized from the group.

Motorcycle mayhem

Young riders shot dead

Three young men riding on motorcycles were shot dead. Four other riders were injured. It happened on November 10. They were shot by a motorcycle gang who chased them. The shootings happened in Thon Buri and Chom Thong districts of Bangkok, police said.
