Did you know

Four owns the Morning Glory by Four flower shop.

Famous as half of pop duo Four Mod, Sakonrat Woraurai (Four) has always projected an adorable image with her cheerful, lovable songs. In the TV sitcom Ra Berd Thiang Taeo Thong (At Noon Sharp), the 27-year-old singer plays the part of a bright doctor whose personality seems similar to Four’s.

However, the sweet star surprised viewers with her latest role in the Channel 8 drama Dong Dok Ngew (Lust), in which Four plays the ambitious MC Ivy who tries to seduce a rich married man named Suekrob, played by Pete Thongchuea. In the show, Four has to portray a two-faced woman who won’t let anything stand in the way of what she wants.

Student Weekly recently met up with Four at a café to chat about her acting career and what she likes to do in her leisure time.

Student Weekly: How was your holiday in Japan in April?

Four: I was in Tokyo for a week with my friends. We initially planned to go to Mount Fuji, Tokyo Disneyland and a fish market, but we woke up in the afternoon almost every day and it was raining. We mostly went shopping and eating in Harajuku and Shibuya. We also went to the Tokyo Disney Sea theme park, which was fun.

Student Weekly: How did you become interesting in playing golf and shooting?

Four: I used to have a lot of free time. But after having some golf and shooting lessons, I realised that I’d have to buy my own equipment. I was hesitant about buying a gun, so I gave up shooting lessons. I still borrow golf clubs from my friend to play golf, although sometimes I can’t hit the ball properly!

Student Weekly: Did you decide to take the part right away when you were offered the chance to play Ivy in Lust?

Four: No. I was afraid that I couldn’t play the character convincingly. I was also worried that viewers might hate me. But I talked to my family about it, and they said that it could be a good way to reach more viewers, so I accepted the role.

When I saw the script for the first time, I wanted to withdraw again because Ivy was so aggressive. The way she seduced guys was unacceptable, so the director adjusted the character for me.

Student Weekly: Can you describe Ivy’s background?

Four: She grew up in slum and her parents are alcoholics. When she was a teenager, she was taken advantage of by her boyfriend. She was devastated and became determined to succeed. She tries everything to change her status so that people won’t look down on her.

Student Weekly: How do you feel when you see yourself as Ivy on the screen?

Four: My friends said that I did great job and that viewers must hate me! I feel insecure, because I don’t want people to hate me.

Student Weekly: How did you feel about temple press tour held to promote the drama?

Four: I’d visited Wat Puet Udom in Pathum Thani before. The temple shows how people will be punished if they commit sins. The tour to promote the drama tried to emphasise the sin of having an affair. After the tour, I didn’t want to commit any sins that could send me to hell.

Student Weekly: Do you feel more relaxed acting in the sitcom At Noon Sharp?

Four: Yes. I’m happy to be on that show. Everybody has fun. Lead actor Golf Pichaya is the same age as me, so we get on well and understand the same jokes easily. Working with Golf is fun.

Student Weekly: Do you have any special message for your fans and viewers?

Four: I’m now acting in the drama Lust on Channel 8 and the sitcom At Noon Sharp on Channel 5. Please check out my work. I do my best in both roles. Some people say that if viewers hate me, it means I’m playing the part of Ivy successfully. But please don’t hate me. I’m not like that in real life!
