In 1983, the Apple Lisa goes on sale. It is the first commercial personal computer from Apple Inc. to have a graphical user interface and a computer mouse.

In 1978, the last Volkswagen Beetle made in Germany leaves VW’s plant in Emden. Beetle production continues in Latin America until 2003.

In 1368, Zhu Yuanzhang ascends the throne of China as the Hongwu Emperor, initiating Ming Dynasty rule over China that would last for three centuries.
