The theme song of Big Eyes is performed by Lana Del Rey.

Directed by whimsical filmmaker Tim Burton, Big Eyes is based on the true story of one of the most outrageous art frauds in history.

In the late 1950s and early ‘60s, painter Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz) achieved great success and revolutionised the commercialisation of popular art with his enigmatic paintings of waifs with big eyes.

In time, however, it was discovered that Walter’s highly successful works were in fact not created by him at all, but by his wife Margaret (Amy Adams). The Keane’s had been living a colossal lie that had fooled everybody.

Big Eyes focuses on Margaret’s awakening as an artist, the phenomenal success of her paintings, and her tumultuous relationship with her husband, who was catapulted to international fame while taking credit for her work.

Catch the bizarre drama when Big Eyes opens on local cinemas on January 22.
