Did you know

Jae Hyeon plays a vampire in the upcoming TV drama, Blood.

In 2013, the tall, good-looking model Ahn Jae Hyeon played Cheon Yoon Jae his first TV drama, the award-winning You Who Came from the Stars. With his unpretentious acting, Jae Hyeon became an overnight star and was awarded best new actor at the Korean Drama Awards, as well as winning the new star prize at the SBS Drama Awards.

More recently Jae Hyeon played the mysterious detective Park Tae Il in the comedy series, You're All Surrounded. During a break from filming, the actor came to meet Thai fans at his first fan meeting in the Land of Smiles. The 2014 Blind Date Meeting with Ahn Jae Hyeon took place on December 6 at Grand Hall, Thammasat University.

SWEET DATE

At his fan meeting, the 27-year-old actor charmed his fans with his witty and charismatic personality. He also beautifully sang the slow soundtrack song, “That Was You,” from You're All Surrounded.

At the end of the meeting, Jae Hyeon cried after seeing a video and card project that his fans prepared for him. He thanked his audience and said that he would try to meet Thai fans more often.

FRIENDLY CHAT

Here are some highlights from Jae Hyeon’s interview at his Paragon Hall press conference on December 5 and at his fan meeting the following day.

Question: Have you been to Thailand before?

Jae Hyeon: Yes. About six month ago I came here for a vacation. Thai people have beautiful smiles.

Question: What do you remember most from your first visit?

Jae Hyeon: I didn’t tell anybody that I was coming to Thailand. But when I hung out in a mall, people recognised me and spoke to me. I was surprised!

Question: Why did you decide to play Yoon Jae in You Who Came from the Stars?

Jae Hyeon: I met the director before I agreed to work on it. I told him that I wasn’t sure if I was right for the part. But the director said that my personality seemed similar to Yoon Jae’s character. He really wanted me to work on the role.

Question: Do you think your personality similar to Yoon Jae’s?

Jae Hyeon: We have many things in common. In the series, he admires Do Min Joon [Kim Soo Hyun] because he’s good at many things. Yoon Jae is also a curios person, like me.

Question: Are you obsessed with aliens like Yoon Jae?

Jae Hyeon: I’m a curious person, so I’m interested in the idea of aliens and wonder if they really exist.

Question: How did you feel to work with top stars like Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun in You Who Came from the Stars?

Jae Hyeon: They’re so famous that I felt like I was acting with people on TV monitors during the filming.

Question: Which scene was the toughest for you?

Jae Hyeon: The scene where Yoon Jae was hit by his sister Song Yi, played by Jun Ji Hyun. We had to do it many times because Ji Hyun was worried about hurting me. The director told her to hit harder, but she kept hitting me lightly. People on the set said that I was one of the only actors that Ji Hyun hit lightly!
