Two arrested for stabbing
Police on January 7 arrest two men who stabbed a junior-high school student before making off with the victim’s mobile phone.
Police said Kwan Yomin, 21, and Kiattikon Yomin, 23, admitted they spotted the student using the phone on Phatthanakan Road on December 16 and stabbed the victim in his abdomen. The alleged offenders then fled the scene on a motorcycle.
The suspects have committed several similar robberies, targeted students and used money from selling stolen phones to buy drugs, police said. Police added that Kwan was previously arrested for drug taking and released last year.
Hospital death
Man commits suicide
A man jumped to his death after having suffered from mental strain. The incident happened on the night of January 4.
The victim, identified only as Kai, 38, of Mukdahan, reportedly fell from Mukdahan Hospital in Muang district. The victim’s sister said Kai had visited their mother, who was admitted to the hospital for asthma. He climbed onto a seventh-floor balcony and leaped, possibly distressed that their mother’s condition was not improving. The victim had been suffering from a mental disorder for about 10 years, his sister said.

Hot wire
Four arrested for factory theft
Four men were arrested. They stole 150 kilogrammes of electrical wires from a factory. It happened in Samut Prakan. Police reported the news on January 5. The wires were worth about 100,000 baht.
