Letter of the week

HOORAY FOR KIDS

Last weekend was Children's Day here in Thailand. My family and I went to Siam Paragon.

It was very busy at the mall. There were lots of activities there, and there was a giant Pikachu. My younger brother and sister and I all had a very fun time. The mall was very busy, but it was a good day.

I hope that everybody else had a good Children's Day as well.

Sittichai Aumphipat,
Bangkok

I'm happy that you had a good time, Sittichai. I've seen lots of photos from this year's Children's Day, and it looked like the kids were having a good time. — Editor

CHILLED OUT

This past week has been very cold. For a while it looked as if the cold season was over, but a few days ago, it got really chilly at night once again.

I like this time of the year. It's nice to be able to sleep comfortably without the air-con at night. But soon enough, it will be hot again, and things will be back to normal.

Aeoy Tassamon,
Bangkok

I've been enjoying the unexpected return of the cool weather myself, Aeoy. I was worried that cold season had ended, too. Sure, it will be hot again before we know it, but we should enjoy the nice weather that we've got now and not worry too much about what the future might hold. — Editor

CHILDREN'S CELEBRATION

When I was younger, I used to enjoy Children's Day a lot. But now that I am older, it doesn't really matter to me very much anymore.

When I was younger, my parents used to take me out on that day for many activities. I always used to have a lot of fun. I have some very good memories of the fun things that we used to do together.

I know that younger children are now enjoying the day the same way that I did back then. If they are lucky, they will have great memories just like I do.

Pichai Bantuvachiraporn,
Bangkok

That's a very mature observation, Pichai. As you get older, your outlook on life changes. Many times, the things that you're interested in and the things you enjoy change also. There's nothing wrong with that; it's part of growing up. But you'll always have fond memories to look back on. — Editor
