Happy Aim

Hello, my name is Aim. This week is the Songkran Festival. I know that everybody will be happy. I'm happy too because I achieved my goal. I want to thank Student Weekly for your terrific magazine that helps me improve my English language skills. They are now better than before.

I hope that everybody enjoys Songkran and has fun splashing one another. I hope everybody has happiness like me!

Thanawan Viriyaajchara, Bangkok

Thanks for your letter. Aim. Glad to hear you're happy and that you have achieved your goal of improving your English language skills. It's great to know that Student Weekly can help students to learn and develop their skills in an enjoyable way. By the time your letter is published Songkran will be over, but I hope you had a great time splashing with friends! — Editor

SUMMER HOLIDAY

Hello! I'm writing about my recent trip. I went to Bang Saen beach in Chon Buri with my family. The beach was beautiful. We played in the salty sea water. When we were tired of swimming, we relaxed on the beach. There were multi-coloured sea shells on the beach.

Pimvipa Kravaree, Bangkok

It sounds like you had a fun and relaxing holiday, Pimvipa. We've had a lot of letters lately about trips to the beach, which I guess makes sense considering it's the summer holidays. But it does make me wonder why I'm here chained to the Student Weekly desk and not at the beach myself! — Editor

CAR CALAMITY

Hello Student Weekly! I want to talk about the traffic in Bangkok. It seems to be getting worse! Over the past week, it has taken about an hour to get anywhere, even when it's just a few kilometres down the road. There are too many cars, buses, trucks and motorbikes on the road. I hope this problem can be fixed one day.

Tent, via email

We get quite a few letters about Bangkok's traffic problem, Tent, so you're definitely not alone in thinking it's pretty out of control. I believe one publication recently listed Bangkok as having the worst traffic in the world. Hopefully the problem will become less severe when there are more public transport options available. — Editor
