Australian singer Lenka used to be happy some of the time. Then Windows and Disney chose her songs to soundtrack their advertisements, and now she’s really happy, all of the time. On her new album, The Bright Side, Lenka wants to share her happiness with you.
Every song on The Bright Side is bouncy, optimistic pop designed to cheer you up. The album includes a range of styles, from acoustic ukulele to electronic sounds, all topped with sweet melodies sung in Lenka’s cute voice.
The lead single, “Blue Skies,” is typical of Lenka’s style. She sings her simple lyrics over a catchy melody, except on this song there’s a mellow electropop backing track that gives the song a more contemporary feel. Expect to hear the song on an advertisement soon.
