Based on a true story of the greatest treasure hunt in modern history, The Monuments Men is an action drama set during World War II. Directed by George Clooney, the film features an all-star cast including Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Cate Blanchett.

Seven over the hill and out of shape museum directors, artists, architects, curators and art historians are sent to the front lines of World War II to rescue the world’s artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their rightful owners.

With the art hidden behind enemy lines, the unlikely heroes have a tough task on their hands if they’re to succeed in their unusual mission. As the group finds themselves in a race against time to stop the destruction of 1000 years of culture, they risk their lives to protect and defend some of humankind’s greatest achievements.

Catch the action, humour and drama when The Monuments Men hits local cinemas on February 20.
