Editor's note

I'm so sleepy. Man, am I ever sleepy. I'm usually pretty sleepy on Monday because, well, it's Monday. Monday sucks, and things that suck make me sleepy. But this Monday, I'm especially sleepy.

I've had a cup of tea and a cup of coffee, and I'm still sleepy. As I write this, I'm barely able to keep my eyes open, and I'm making a lot of spelling mistakes. You probably can't tell I'm making a lot of mistakes because I keep going back to correct them as I type. But this editor's note is taking twice as long to type because I'm sleepy and I have to keep correcting all my typos as I make them. It's exhausting, which is making me even more sleepy.

There's really nothing for me to do about it right now. At this point, all I can do is keep typing so that I can finish this up so that I can head home and go to bed.

When you're sleepy it's really easy to become distracted by things. That's another reason it's taking me so long to get this done. I keep checking my social media accounts. I don't know why. Checking my social media accounts just makes me more sleepy.

When I woke up this morning, I was so sleepy that I was actually giddy. If you've ever not got enough sleep, you might know what I'm talking about. I felt jittery, and things were making me laugh unexpectedly. That part wasn't so bad. I don't mind laughing unexpectedly, which is why I try to do it fairly often.

The problem is that I woke up quite a few hours ago, and that giddy feeling has completely worn off now. Now I feel like my eyelids are made of lead, and it feels like every movement I make is though cold molasses. So slow.

So anyway, if you don't mind, I'm just going to lay my head down on my desk for a few minutes. I promise I'll finish this editor's note after I've had just a little nap.

I'll be right back. I promise.
