Princess Chulabhorn admitted to hospital

Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn has been admitted to Vichaiyut Hospital in Bangkok with gastritis, the Bureau of the Royal Household said on September 6.

The bureau said the princess had developed discomfort in her stomach and was exhausted before being admitted to hospital. Doctors examined the princess and diagnosed her with symptoms of gastritis.

The princess is being administered nutrients and medicine, and has been asked to remain in hospital and refrain from work until she recovers. The youngest daughter of HM the King and HM the Queen is 57 years old.


Fever scare

Woman free of Ebola

A second round of blood tests on a 24-year-old Guinean woman suspected of having Ebola have come back negative, confirming that she does not have the disease, Department of Disease Control official Opas Karnkavinpong said on September 5. The tests found that the woman has malaria.

Opas said the woman would be moved to the common patient unit after four days of monitoring in the disease control unit.

“It will then depend on her doctor if she is allowed to go home,” Opas said.

Farmland flooded

Authorities monitor water levels

About 3,600 rai of farmland in Phitsanulok’s Phrom Phiram district was flooded. The area was under one meter of floodwater. It happened on September 7. Authorities said they would keep monitoring the coming rain.
