Snoop goes old school

Snoop Dogg
Bush
BEC TERO Music

The world famous rap star, Snoop Dogg has released his 13th album, Bush, with Pharrell Williams as producer. Snoop is relaxed and cool on this album, and why wouldn’t he be? He’s now 43 years old and has been rapping since the early ‘90s.

The stand-out opener “California Roll” is a great appetiser, served up with Stevie Wonder’s harmonica. This track is a great example of the laid-back sound of Snoop’s Bush. The first single, “Peaches N Cream” featuring Charlie Wilson, is a groovy hit.

This album is a tribute to the funk and R&B of the 1970s. Both Snoop and Pharrell are children of the ‘70s, so it’s no wonder that these songs sound so good. They’re embracing the ambience of the music they grew up with, and these two never fail to represent the West Coast summer vibe.

If you’re looking for some good R&B beats, this album is definitely for you. But if you’re a Snoop fan and you’re into his rapping, you might want to leave this one on the shelf. — BS.
