Local heavy rock band Retrospect are back again with new single, "Hak Lhang (Betrayed)." Retrospect now have a new keyboard player, which gives the band's sound more power, as can be heard on this song.

"Betrayed" combines heavy metal music with a sweet vocal melody, which is pretty much Retrospect's signature sound. The song switches between the heavy and sweet parts smoothly. The loud guitar and drum sounds stand out well, especially during the guitar solo, which makes the song more interesting. The singer's voice is powerful, and it compliments the guitar sound well.

Matching the heavy and light mix of the music, the lyrics of "Betrayed" combine nice language with a few harsh words to give the song more emotion and feeling.

With this release, Retrospect's image has changed a bit, with the band dressed in cool suits for their recent publicity photos. Despite the changes, Retrospect's latest release maintains the band's usual standard's, and fans should be happy with this new single. — VH
