Letter of the week

FAMILY FILM

On Mother's Day, my family and I went to watch Inside Out at the cinema. It was awesome! I loved the film. My mom usually doesn't like animated films, but she loved it too.

The movie has many morals that we can follow. For example, the film showed that sadness is not always bad, and that even when we are in the worst part of our lives, our family is always there to support us and cheer us up. I think that Inside Out is the best animated film this year, especially for families to watch. If you have time, don't forget to watch it!

Natpalin Supradit na Ayudthaya,
Nonthaburi

Thanks for your letter, Natpalin. I haven't seen Inside Out, but it has certainly had some great reviews. It's nice to hear that you went to see it with your family and that everybody enjoyed the movie. It sounds like your mom had a great Mother's Day. — Editor

SHOCKING BOMBING

The huge tragedy at the Erawan Shrine on Monday August 17 was so sad. Not only Thai people but also foreigners were killed in the incident.

The bombers who did it were very cruel. We don't know if it was teamwork or a lone killer, but everybody condemns them because of all the loss of innocent life.

Pornchai Amnuaychailert,
Bangkok

The Erawan Shrine bombing certainly was a sad and shocking incident, Pornchai. Unfortunately there are some cruel and crazy people in this world. Let's hope the police manage to track down the instigators of this horrendous crime. — Editor

CITY CYCLING

I read on the Internet that riding a bicycle is twice as dangerous as travelling in a car. This scared me a bit because I love riding bicycles. But there are positive things about cycling too, such as the way it can reduce carbon dioxide production if we ride bikes instead of driving cars.

Teera Siribunsuk,
Bangkok

Don't believe everything you read on the Internet, Teera. Bike riding is a fun activity and a great form of transport, but it's also true that riding in Bangkok can be pretty dangerous. But then again, being a car passenger in this city can also be pretty harrowing. Hopefully drivers are becoming more aware of how to share the roads with cyclists. It would certainly be great for the city's air quality if more people used bikes instead of cars. Just don't forget to wear a helmet when you ride! — Editor
