Superhero saves the world

Did you know

The Green Lantern first appeared in All-American Comics in 1940.

Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, Green Lantern is the latest in a long line of popular superhero films.

A powerful and mysterious force has existed in the universe for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are known as the Green Lantern Corps. Warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him the ability to create anything his mind can imagine.

When a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the universe, the fate of Earth lies in the hands of the newest Green Lantern recruit, and the first human on the team, Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds).

Hal is a gifted pilot, but the Green Lanterns have historically had little respect for humans. However, Hal's humanity is one weapon that no other member of the Corps has ever had.

With the encouragement of his girlfriend Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), Hal quickly masters his new powers and overcomes his fears, becoming the key to defeating Parallax and saving humankind from total destruction.
