‘‘Muay Thai Live—The Legend Lives’’ will be staged daily at Asiatique The Riverfront starting Jan 22 at 8pm.

Flying fists, gravity-defying kicks and superhuman acts of speed make muay Thai an exciting element of local culture.

The ancient martial art will now take centre stage at Asiatique The Riverfront, with nightly shows beginning Wednesday at 8pm.

Through a combination of fascinating history and amazing athleticism, "Muay Thai Live _ The Legend Lives" explores the roots of Thailand's ancient martial art and brings to life more than 300 years of history.

Audiences will be entertained with a dazzling combination of hyper-real muay Thai fights, breathtaking stunts and sweeping drama.

The show was created by internationally acclaimed Thai director Ekachai Uekrongtham, who directed award-winning film Beautiful Boxer and hit musical play Chang And Eng.

Nopadol Limwatankul, one of Thailand's leading architects whose previous projects include the Museum of Siam, designed the event's stage.

He has incorporated state-of-the-art light and sound technology for an immersive muay Thai experience that really packs a punch.
