Roti saves politicians life

A taste for roti saved the chairman of Pradu Ngam tambon administration organisation from a bomb attack in Phetchabuns Muang district on July 29.

Narin Klinpuang was driving his pick-up truck, accompanied by two other local politicians. As he drove past a roti stall at the Pibulsongkhram Rajabhat University gate, he couldnt resist a craving for the snack. He told his friends to wait in the truck while he went to buy some roti.

Seconds after he got out, Narin heard a loud explosion from his truck. He found his friends badly wounded inside the damaged vehicle.

According to police, a time bomb was planted under the drivers seat of the truck.

Too much money

Motorist overpays toll

Many motorists are angry about the rising motorway toll, but a 38-year-old woman handed over 14,510 baht to pay a 30-baht toll in Lat Krabang on August 2.

Motorway toll collector Suwanna Pantho said that she was surprised when the motorist handed her a large bundle of cash as she drove through the toll gate. Suwanna tried to stop the driver, but she refused to listen and sped away.

Motorway officials got the vehicles licence plate number. They made an appeal through public radio, telling the motorist to come and get her money back.

Bongkottorn Bamrungpued contacted the agency and said the pink Honda belonged to his wife and that the driver was his younger sister, Palida Napaslap. Bongkottorn said that Palida has mental health problems.
