Did you know

Halle Berry is engaged to Olivier Martinez.

The latest in a long line of shark-attack thrillers is Dark Tide, directed by Blue Crush director John Stockwell.

Kate Mathieson (Halle Berry) is a shark expert. While filming a documentary near Cape Town with her cameraman boyfriend Jeffrey (Olivier Martinez) and her crew Tommy (Mark Elderkin) and Themba (Sizwe Msufu), disaster strikes. Themba is mauled to death by a huge shark, and Kate can’t help blaming herself for the accident.

A year later, Kate has fallen on hard times, making a living by taking obnoxious tourists for shark-spotting boat rides in the bay. Jeffery tells Kate about a lucrative job that could help her to pay her debts and fix up her old boat. The job is to take rich businessman William Brady (Ralph Brown) and his son Luke (Luke Tyler) out to dive with the sharks. William insists on diving without a cage — something that amateurs should never attempt.

When Kate reluctantly takes on the job, she decides to give the bullying William exactly what he wants by steering the boat to the Cape’s most dangerous, shark infested waters. Once there, a huge storm starts to build that threatens to smash Kate’s boat to smithereens.

Catch the suspense and action when Dark Tide hits cinemas on June 14.
