Located in Pathum Thani, the Kanchanaphisek National Museum, also known as the Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture, was established in 1996 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne. The museum displays a variety of exhibits related to land and agricultural development in Thailand.

For this week’s Freeze Frame, SW explores this interesting agricultural museum.

The Living Genetics Room stores seeds of tens of thousands of different plants gathered from many provinces throughout the kingdom.

The Innovations and Inventions of the Royal Father zone celebrates social contributions that His Majesty the King has made in the fields of literature, art, music and science. One example is the Chaipattana Low Speed Surface Aerator model (top).

This room provides knowledge about botany and the genetic diversity of commercial crops, especially species of plants that are native to Thailand.

The Wonder of the Fields exhibition gives visitors insights into the satisfaction that can come from choosing farming as a career and living happily with nature.

This area encourages Thais to take part in increasing food production and creating self-sufficient households.

This display presents information about land development and natural resource preservation.
