From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, the second in the trilogy of films based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic fantasy novel, The Hobbit.

This film continues the adventures of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and 13 dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), on an epic quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and the lost dwarf kingdom of Erobor.

Having survived the beginning of their unexpected journey, the group continues east, encountering along the way the skin-changer Beorn (Mikael Persbrandt) and a swarm of giant spiders in the treacherous forest of Mirkwood.

Once they eventually reach the Lonely Mountain, the travellers face the greatest danger of all — the terrifying Dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch), which will test their courage and the wisdom of their entire journey.

Catch the action, adventure and magic when The Desolation of Smaug his cinemas on December 12.
