Did you know

BtoB were awarded the Next Generation Star at the latest Golden Disk Awards.

Seven-member boy band BtoB were the brainchild of music label Cube Entertainment, famous for creating popular groups like Beast and 4Minute.

Because they were produced such a leading label, BtoB — leader Eunkwang, 23, Minhyuk, 22, Changsub, 22, Hyunsik, 21, Peniel, 20, lhoon, 19 and Sungjae, 18 — were well trained in singing and dancing.

The group recently visited Bangkok to promote their new dance track, “Thriller,” and to hold their second fan meeting, BtoB Year End Party with Melody in Thailand.

LOVER BOYS

At Centerpoint Studio on November 24, BtoB appeared in front of their Thai Melody fan club after screening the video of “Thriller.” The group then performed the dance songs “Wow” and “Lover Boy.” Aside from BtoB’s flawless performance, the show had terrific lighting and production design.

The two-hour fan meeting featured plenty of music performances as well as interviews. The show was great fun since each of the guys was a fantastic entertainer with a sharp sense of humour. Though the guys often made fun of one another, they always had sweet words for their fans.

SMALL TALK

During the interview, Peniel was asked to pick the sleepiest member of the group, and he chose Eunkwang. The leader said that he never used to wake up late, but admitted that lately he’d become a bit of a sleepyhead.

When Eunkwang was asked what he wanted to do during his day off in Thailand, the singer said that he wanted Melody to take him out in Bangkok. A lot of fans screamed and shouted that they wanted to show him around the city. However, Minhyuk got the loudest screams when he said that Thai Melody was part of him, which meant they both could never be separated.

THAI TUNES

One of the highlights of the event was when the guys sang two Thai songs — Singular’s “Second Chance” and Groove Riders’ hit “Yood (Stop).” BtoB then performed dance moves from the look tung hit “Nan Ok (Splash Out).” The fans couldn’t stop smiling at the great effort that BtoB put into their performance.

LUCKY FAN

At one point, the crowd went crazy when a lucky female fan was brought onto the stage personally by Sungjae. The guys took turns getting close to the girl as they sang the adorable song, “Monday to Sunday.”

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS

Eunkwang and Minhyuk were both born in November, so some fans presented a cute birthday cake to surprise them. The guys were touched and expressed their gratitude. Minhyuk said that he didn’t expect to have a birthday cake, adding that he loved everybody.

THRILLING SHOW

At the end of the show, the guys sang “Thriller” and expressed their feelings about Thai Melody. Minhyuk had a lot of sweet things to say. He complimented Thai Melody for being the best and said that he wanted to be their boyfriend. He also asked everybody to promise to not forget their fan meeting.

The day before the fan meeting, BtoB met Thai press at the swimming pool area of the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel. Here is some of what the guys said during the long group interview.

Question: You guys always shout “born to beat” before performing. What does that phrase mean to you?

Changsub: Beat refers to both rhythm and defeating something. It means we were born to perform music, and that we always have to win!

Question: Can you tell us about “Thriller”?

Minhyuk: On the recording, we used orchestral instruments to create a great sound. The song is about the charm of male strength and the bad boy image.

Question: Have you ever experienced anything thrilling?

Eunkwang: I once saw a ghost when I was sleeping alone. I woke up at night and saw a child hugging his knees up to his chest and looking at me. It was an unforgettable moment.

Question: Can each of you describe your individual charms?

Paniel: I have a free mind because I’m from the US. I’m also a man of few words.

Sungjae: I look younger than my age. I have also two personalities. I can be strict or like a cute kid.

Ihoon: I’m a rapper, but I’m also good at singing.

Hyunsik: I’m good at smiling. Fans like my smile.

Minhyuk: I’m cute and sexy. I look sexy without doing anything sexy.

Eunkwang: I’m a casual guy, like the boy next door.

Changsub: I’m unique. Nobody can imitate me.
