SW visits Osaka

Osaka is one of Japan’s most popular destinations. With plentiful cultural resources, numerous historical sites, fresh seafood, scenic views and beautiful beaches, the city welcomes a great number of visitors every year.

For Freeze Frame this week, SW explores some of the Osaka’s highlights.

Built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi in the late19th century, Osaka Castle is a well-known tourist attraction in the city.

The Kaiyukan Aquarium is one of the world’s largest public aquariums and attracts many visitors interested in marine life.

Space Station Osaka in central Osaka is one of the city’s most unique nightlife attractions. This exciting restaurant offers customers various video games compatible with a Super Nintendo, Famicom, Dreamcast, Xbox and PlayStation.

Along the roads in central Osaka are a number of restaurants where you can try a variety of sea food. The famous Kani Doraku restaurant has a moving mechanical crab decorating its exterior.

Travellers can shop for souvenirs, food and beverages while exploring local street life along lively Dotonbori Street.
