Peck, Aof and Ice make the right moves

When Sarunyu Winaipanit (Ice), 24, Pongsak Rattanaphong (Aof), 23, and Palitchok Ayanaphutra (Peck), 23, joined forces to work on a new project, it was guaranteed to be a smash.

Their album, Peck Aof ICE: Together, perfectly blends this impressive trio of talents. Ice brings catchy dance songs into the mix, while Aofs dramatic ballads can always break listeners hearts. Peck effortlessly blows away fans with his beautiful R&B tunes.

• Did you know •
Ice is so absent-minded that some of his friends call him AlzheimersMan.

The guys have already topped the charts with their ballad Khae Khon Toe Pit (I Just Made a Wrong Call) and the upbeat dance track Narak Na Love (Falling for a Cutie).

Student Weekly met up with the trio at a recent press conference, where they gave an impressive live performance without lip-syncing. After greeting their fans, the guys sat down to talk about working together.

QUESTION: How did you guys first hook up?

ICE: We sang together at an event once and got a great response. After that, we were often hired to perform together. As a result, our management teams let us make the album.

QUESTION: What did you think about the idea of making an album together?

PECK: I was very happy. Aof and Ice are professionals. Working on an album can be a lonely experience, but its fun working with these guys.

ICE: We used to just sing other peoples songs when we performed together, but now we have our own songs to sing.

QUESTION: Did you feel more pressure working together?

PECK: I felt a bit of pressure because Aof and Ice are so professional, but they gave me lots of good advice about singing and about life.

QUESTION: How would you describe your different singing styles?

AOF: Ice has a very clear, high voice. His songs are vibrant.

ICE: Peck has a beautiful, soothing voice. Listening to him sing makes you feel very relaxed and restful. His voice can tone down serious lyrics.

PECK: Aof is a powerful singer, and he has lots of energy. He can joke around from 5 am until 2 am the next day!

QUESTION: Ice, where did you get the idea to mix Spanish music into your song Patiset Khao Pai [Lets Say No]?

ICE: I became interested in Spanish culture and music recently, so I asked our producer to add some Spanish guitar to my song.

QUESTION: Do you enjoy performing so many complex dance routines?

ICE: There are too many detailed steps for this album. My previous two records were dance music, but I never had to dance this much.

We can move smoothly together, though, so it has worked out great.

AOF: Whenever I make a wrong move, I just look at Ice or Peck as if theyre the ones who made the mistake [Laughs.] Thats why I look so confident when Im dancing!

QUESTION: What do you guys think of the rumours that youre gay?

AOF: Its funny. I dont take it seriously. If I get stressed out, I cant concentrate on my work properly.

PECK: I laugh about it with my family. We cant stop people from talking or change what people think. I just keep quiet and wait for the rumours to fade away.

ICE: Many singers have to face this kind of thing. Anybody who meets me in person can decide the truth for themselves.

QUESTION: Ice, why do you take the rumours more seriously?

ICE: My parents are teachers, and some kid brought a newspaper headline about me to school and asked my dad about it. I care about how they feel.
