After taking a few years off from music, good-natured pop singer Lalita Singtotong, better known as Noey Senorita, has surprised her fans with two new singles — the pop rock "Mee Krai Ngao Muen Rao Mai (Lonely)" and the moody ballad "Tua Lork (Don't Be Fake)." Both songs will be included on her new album, which will be her first since 2009.

Noey seems proud of her new material as she co-wrote both tracks, and she can now enjoy watching both songs climb the charts.

Student Weekly recently caught up with Noey to talk about her new music and her love for football.

Student Weekly: What you have been doing for the past few years?

Noey: I haven't released a single under my own name for about two years, but I've still kept singing. I've done the soundtracks for a few TV dramas and still play gigs sometimes. Besides music, I've also been taking care of my family business, as well as forming a media company with my friends.

Student Weekly: Why did you decide to release two singles at the same time?

Noey: I haven't released any songs for quite some time, and I didn't want to wait as I have many songs ready to be released. It's also a new kind of marketing plan to get more feedback from listeners. We're planning my future releases at the moment, including my new album.

Student Weekly: Can you tell us more about the new songs?

Noey: The songs are quite different from one another. "Lonely" is an anthem for people who feel alone. The music has a groove to move your body along with cool guitar riffs. "Don't Be Fake" is a pop R&B ballad with a touch of soul. Fans of my old band Senorita should love this track. The song is about questioning the sincerity of the person you're with.

Student Weekly: Did you write the songs yourself?

Noey: I came up with themes of the songs and the vocal melodies, but I'm still not good enough to write all the words myself. Hopefully I can do better in the future.

Student Weekly: Is "Lonely" based on your own personal experience?

Noey: Yes, I believe most girls have had this kind of moment in their lives, when they are wondering if there's anybody in the world waiting for them. I used to feel lonely often, so I'd hang out with friends.

Student Weekly: Can you tell us more about your TV horror series, Rueng Sayong Pong Puen?

Noey: It's the first show I made with my company Kradang-Nga Media. I studied drama and theatre at university. While I was taking a break from music, I recruited my old friends from college to form the company. Our next project should be a comedy.

Student Weekly: Are you a huge football fan?

Noey: Football has been important in my family ever since I can remember. My uncle is a vice president of Chonburi Football Club, so I've seen many matches.
