University Tips is here to help you prepare for the English exams that are coming your way. It gives you practise answering questions similar to those you may have at school and also on the university entrance examination.

Winning streak

Rafael Nadal reduced Roger Federer to tears when he won the Australian Open final recently. It was Nadal's first Grand Slam title win on a hard court.

Nadal, now the world No. 1, miraculously recovered from his five-hour semi-final to take the final match 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (7/3), 3-6, 6-2 in four hours and 23 minutes.

Nadal now joins Andre Agassi as the only players in the past 24 years to have won Grand Slam titles on all three court surfaces — clay, grass and hard.

For Nadal, the victory was proof that he is a better player than Federer. Beating somebody as good as Federer five straight times is a huge achievement. Nadal is now more than 3,000 points ahead of Federer in the ATP world rankings.
