University Tips is here to help you prepare for the English exams and tests that are coming your way. It gives you practise answering questions similar to those you may have at school and also on the University Entrance Examination.

Read the following game review from the Bangkok Post. Then, answer the questions that follow.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (Multi-platform)

This game takes place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings. It features a great, action-heavy storyline. Battle with Sauron’s army as you advance the story or just kill time, but remember, if you die, the orc that killed you will get a promotion to a captain or higher. Oh, and Talion (the main character), armed with a sword and bow, has the ability to cheat death, allowing you to return to the land of the living and avenge yourself. How cool is that?

Pokemon Omega Ruby (Nintendo 3D)

The last time I played a Pokemon game was 14 years ago, in the halcyon days of the Gameboy Color. The game has returned — now in 3-D — to once again capture gamers’ hearts with familiar gameplay, new monsters and a great story. Although the game’s formula hasn’t changed much over the years — catch Pokemon, fight gym masters and compete with others — it’s still a simple and cute journey.

Piano Tiles (iOS) & Don’t Tap The White Tile (Android)

Your goal is to hit all of the black tiles without touching the white. It’s that simple. Test your reflexes against a moving grid and you will spend hours on this game without even noticing. Just compare your score with others and you’ll know what I mean. It’s super addictive.

Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo 3-D)

This game features more than 50 iconic Nintendo characters (Mario, Link, and a slew of others, such as Mega Man). The concept is pretty simple — push your opponents off the stage, while avoiding that fate for yourself. Many items help to make things even more hectic. Super Smash Bros. is easy to get into but takes a lot of time to master. The fact that this game can be played with friends both on and offline make it the perfect pick for easy and quick fun.

Dragon Age: Inquisition (Multi-platform)

Do you want to become a hero in a fantasy world full of beautiful scenery, interactive non-playable characters, gruesome monsters to slash through and an epic political plot? Then this is the game for you.
