Valentine’s Day on February 14 is a romantic occasion when couples celebrate their love by giving cards, flowers and other small gifts to their loved ones.

This week’s Exercises takes a look at some of the interesting activities that have been arranged to mark this year’s Valentine’s Day in Thailand.

WET WEDDINGS

Provincial authorities and the private sector in Trang province will arrange the Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony 2015, which is due to be held between February 12 and 14 this year.

JUMBO CELEBRATION

Those who can’t swim may be interested in a mass wedding on elephants in Surin’s Thatoom district. The mass weddings will be hold on February 13 and 14, when approximately 30 couples can join free of charge. For more information, call 044 591 141 and 044 511 975, or visit www.surinpao.org.

LOVE FESTIVAL

Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi will welcome couples to attend the Festival of Love on February 13 and 14. For this occasion, the organisers will arrange a rally to promote local ecotourism, the route of which will pass scenic sights in the area. A concert will also be held featuring performances by Oh Seksarn, Eh Jirakorn, Sorn Sinchai and Kratai R-Siam.
