Letter of the week

RAD DAD

My father is a smart gentleman. He brought up me to be strong but not weak because I am his only daughter.

When I have problems, he helps me solve them. He gives me good advice all the time.

There are no secrets between my father and me. He is not only smart but also polite. All I need is father‘s love.

Garnyagorn Puangkhao,
Nonthaburi

Your dad sounds like a really great guy, and it seems like you have a lot of love and respect for him, Garnyagorn. I'm sure that the most important thing to your father is that you are happy and healthy and have a bright future. — Editor

STELLAR FILM

I recently went to see the movie Interstellar. It is about a mission to go to outer space to try to find another planet for humans to live on after they've made Earth uninhabitable due to pollution.

It was a very interesting movie with really good special effects. The only thing that bothered me was the ending. I found it confusing and a little cryptic.

Other than that, it was a good film. You should see it if you have the chance.

Pichai Bantuvachiraporn,
Bangkok

I haven't seen that movie yet, Pichai. I've heard almost universally good things about it, though. Any complaints I've heard are actually what you point out about the end of the film. I don't think there's anything wrong with being a little cryptic when it comes to art. It just means that you have to think a little bit. — Editor

FOR THE BIRDS

My family like birds a lot. We like them so much that we started raising them. We now run a business.

We breed birds and raise them from the time that they are little chicks. Then we sell the birds to people who also enjoy them. It is a lot of fun.

The grown up birds are very beautiful, but when they are chicks, they are extremely ugly. I think it's funny that young birds are so homely when they are little.

Witty Montok,
Khon Kaen

That sounds like an interesting business to be in, Witty. I imagine that raising birds is actually quite a lot of work. Raising any animal is a big responsibility, but it’s also very rewarding. I'm glad that you enjoy it. — Editor
