Things change when the free-spirited Sam (Emma Watson) and her fearless stepbrother Patrick (Ezra Miller) take Charlie under their wing, helping him to find new friends, his first love and some wild teenage parties.

At the same time, Charlie’s English teacher Bill Anderson (Paul Rudd) introduces him to the world of literature, sparking his dreams of becoming a writer.

However, as Charlie thrives in this new, more grown-up world, the pain of his past continues to lurk just below the surface. As his older friends prepare to leave home to start university, Charlie’s stability starts to crumble, revealing a shocking revelation that is at the root of his sadness.
