The northeastern province of Roi Et is famous for historical sites, cultural heritage, plentiful natural resources and Thung Kula Ronghai jasmine rice.

For Freeze Frame this week, SW explores some the well-known tourist attractions in this beautiful landlocked province.

Chedi Hin Sai, located in Si Somdet district, has a beautiful tiered sandstone structure.

Situated in Buraphaphiram Temple, Phra Rattana Mongkol Maha Munee is Thailand’s tallest Blessing Buddha statute, standing about 60 metres tall.

Designed by the Department of Fine Arts, Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol is one of Thailand’s largest pagodas. The pagoda was built and decorated in the Lanka and Khmer styles.

Nua Temple is the oldest temple in Roi Et. It houses the lotus-shaped Phra That Yahku stupa, which is believed to be about 1,300 years old.

The Pha Mok Miwai cliff is one of the province’s most popular attractions. It covers an area of 151,242 rai and is home to numerous species of wildlife.
