K-pop sensation Wonder Girls is best known from their 2008 phenomenal hit, “Nobody” which also made it onto the US Billboard Hot 100. After releasing their album, Wonder Party and its chart-topping track, "Like This," in 2012, the girls have been on hiatus for three years. In 2015 the girls surprised their fans, Wonderful, by releasing their third studio album, Reboot, on which they play the instruments themselves.

After not visiting Thailand for six years, the four members — lead vocalist and keyboard player Yeeun, 26, rapper and drummer Yubin, 27, vocalist and bassist Sunmi, 23 and rapper and guitarist Hyerim, 23 — delighted Thai Wonderful on Halloween at the fan meeting Trick & Greet at Chaengwattana Hall, Central Plaza Chaengwattana.

GIRL GREETING

After a short greeting the Wonder Girls opened their set with "I Feel You" from Reboot. The girls also sang and played instruments on their hits “Nobody” and “Tell Me.” Thai Wonderful screamed and sang along.

FANCY NIGHT

Before a short interview the girls changed into fancy costumes to fit the Halloween theme. While Sunmi was a cute pirate, Yubin was a sexy policewoman. Yeeun wore a Snow White costume and Hyelim was a gorgeous cheerleader. Then they played games and tried to speak Thai, making their fans happy.

FAITHFUL FANS

Since the girls don’t visit the Kingdom often, Thai Wonderful prepared two special gifts for their beloved group. Yubin got a surprise cake to celebrate her birthday which was in October. At the end of the event, after a performance of the fun songs, "Back," "Candle" and "Like This," the fans showed a video to the girls. The video featured a story of fans who promised to remember the group forever. All the fans held up signs with the message "Always Stay Together." Some members were touched and couldn’t hold back the tears. Yeeun thanked the fans and apologised for making them wait a long time. The girls said they would try to meet Thai fans again.

Here are some parts of interview at the fan meeting.

Question: How do you feel when meeting fans for the first time in six years?

Sunmi: I’m overwhelmed that the fans welcome us warmly.

Yeeun: We’ve never held a fan party on Halloween abroad before. Today is an exclusive for our Thai fans.

Question: How did you prepare for this album since you have to sing, dance and play instruments?

Yeeun: During the hiatus, I studied keyboard while Hyerim learnt guitar. Yubin and Sunmi learnt drums and bass. The key isn’t just playing instruments, because while performing there is also choreography. It’s really difficult, but we’re very happy to play instruments and dance.

Question: When the video of “I Feel You” was released, it was admired and shared by Thai celebrities and fans. How did you feel about this?

Sunmi: I felt great. A teaser of the music video received great feedback in Korea as well as abroad. The response made us feel that our fans still love us and always support us.

Yubin: I was very glad that there are people in the same industry who appreciate us.

Question: What’s the idea behind your new outfits?

Yubin: During the 1980s, there was an American TV series called Baywatch. In the show, the characters wore swimsuits. We wear them because we have to dance and play instruments.

Question: Which Wonder Girl is the sexiest?

Sunmi: Yeeun has very beautiful body.

Yubin: Hyerim used to be cute. But for this album, her contact lenses changed to be sexy.

Yeeun: Yubin is naturally sexy and not fake.

Hyerim: I didn’t know which one I should choose, because everybody is sexy. But I choose Yubin.
