British singer-songwriter Joss Stone recently released her new album, Water for Your Soul. On this album, Joss mixes her usual pop soul style with lots of reggae, along with some hip-hop, Latin and other world music influences.

Album opener “Love Me” is an emotional love song with a groovy reggae beat. “Stuck On You,” another song about falling in love, features some influence of Indian music and exotic-sounding musical instruments from different parts of the world that are integrated well into the overall sound.

"Wake Up” is a fun dancehall reggae track that asks people to be aware of the world around them. It's a rallying cry driven by a strong beat and catchy keyboards. “Molly Town,” another reggae track, is a beautiful song that was inspired by the love story of a couple Joss met while travelling.

Many of the songs on this album feature a mix of musical styles, including the last song, “The Answer,” which combines reggae, calypso and Irish music in a way that is harmonious, fun and exciting. The song is about letting go of the things that worry us and finding strength in love.

Overall, this is an upbeat album that stretches Joss Stone's style into some interesting new directions. — SK
