Editor's note

Please forgive me if this Editor's Note is even more scattered and nonsensical than usual. It's just that I'm incredibly relaxed today. That's extremely unusual for me on a deadline day, and I'm not sure quite how to deal with it.

The reason I'm relaxed is that I got to get away from the city this past weekend and head to the beach in Trang. I've never been down that far south, so it was a new experience for me.

Also a new experience was that I got to spend the weekend at a five-star resort. I mean a really, really fancy one. I can't usually afford things like that, because I work in publishing — which I love by the way. I'm not complaining.

Anyway, the fact is that I got to go to this amazing place because I won a lucky draw. A really lucky draw, as it happens.

I won't mention the name of the resort, but it was fancy. They had a full service spa, two amazing swimming pools, a delicious breakfast buffet with anything you could imagine, and some really great restaurants. The service was amazing and the place was beautiful. I even had an ocean-view room that featured picture-postcard views all day long.

As I said, I'm not used to this level of luxury. I mean, when I go to the beach I don't sleep in a grass hut or anything, but his place was fancier than any I've been to in quite some time.

So right now I'm still recovering from the level of relaxation to which I became very quickly accustomed to over the four days that I was there. I'm feeling very rested and relaxed. Anybody who knows me knows that this is not my natural state of being. I like it, but I know that it won't take long till I'm back to my old, stressed out self. Which is fine, really.

Actually I'm so relaxed that I'm just going to finish up with a snapshot I took from my balcony last weekend.

I'll be back to normal next week. See you then.
