The BU Theatre Company, which is part of Bangkok University's Performing Arts Department, received special permission from Tams-Witmark Music Library Inc. and Music Theatre International to stage their production of the classic musical, West Side Story.
The plot of West Side Story was inspired by William Shakespeare's classic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. Two rival gangster groups, the Jets and the Sharks, fight against each other to be in charge of a lane in New York City. Tony from the Jets and Maria from the Sharks fall in love and try to stop the battles between two gangs.
