At Royal Paragon Hall from July 4 to 6, comic lovers got to see their favourite superheroes and characters from Japanese and American comic books at Bangkok Comic Con. The event also featured displays from American TV shows, cosplay costumes and an animation soundtrack performance.

SW went along to check out the fun and fantasy at Comic Con.

The hot HBO series Game of Thrones attracted the largest crowd at the event. Though fans had to queue for a long time to take a picture with the famous Iron Throne, few gave up the chance. Some fans also enjoyed playing an interactive game called Battle of Blackwater Bay. Next to the Iron Throne, a series storyboard drawn by storyboard artist William Simpson was displayed.

Batman was another big draw at the event. At the Batman booth was a full-sized Batmobile and figures of Batman and his enemies The Joker and The Riddler.

Japanese robot cat Doraemon is an all-time favourite character for people of all ages. The first Doraemon comic was released in 1969, and it has been popular ever since.

NASA’s A Human Adventure: The Exhibition booth was created to make visitors feel like they were in a spacecraft.

Game and comic publishing companies used people dressed in cosplay outfits to attract visitors to their booths.

Fans of the American post-apocalyptic horror drama TV series Walking Dead posed with zombies from the show.

Marvel Comics superheroes Spiderman, The Hulk and Iron Man were available for photo opportunities.
