Chinese New Year’s Day comes once again on February 10. On this special occasion, Chinese people and others who love a good celebration will see in the Year of the Snake with special events around the globe.

For Freeze Frame this week, SW takes a look at festive events that were held internationally to celebrate last Chinese New Year.

Performers take part in Chinese New Year celebrations in London, England. The street was packed for the colourful parade.

Filipinos watch a dragon dance to mark Chinese New Year in the Binondo Chinatown district of Manila in the Philippines.

Devout Buddhists participate in an annual ceremony to worship the Chinese god Kong Ju Thian, and to pray for health and happiness at Phomankhunaram Temple in Yannawa, Bangkok.
