Children’s Day will come once again on January 9. On this occasion, kids in different regions will enjoy various activities arranged especially for them.
This week’s Exercises recommends venues which celebrate Children’s Day in Bangkok.
Children’s Day, first established in Thailand in 1955, has become one of the important days on Thai calendars. The day aims to focus on the younger generation who will become decent adults in the future.
EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX
The sooner a child knows what he or she would like to be, the sooner he or she will be successful. KidZania was established based on this idea, and its branches have spread over more than 20 countries worldwide, including Thailand.
Edutainment centre KidZania Bangkok offers a replica of a city, including buildings, shops, banks and restaurants. Based on the theme “Play as if You Are a Grownup,” kids can take part in role-plays that enable them to learn more about their preferred profession, for example a dentist, a bank officer, a lawyer or a fireman.

WORLD OF KNOWLEDGE
One of the recommended places for kids to celebrate their day is the Children’s Discovery Museum, where kids can learn about science and culture.
The museum is divided into 15 main zones — Creative Space, Junior Thai Kitchen, Creative Science, Dino Detective, Our Friends, Incredible Me, Amazing Vision, Inventor’s Club, Kid’s Playhouse, Build Our City, Wonder Building, Art Studio, Big Backyard, Creative Library and Rainbow Town.
Visual and interactive exhibits such as a scientific demonstration and computer graphic software are also shown here.
